Independent digital services

Find what’s costing you enquiries, time or money. Then fix it.

I fix the things quietly costing small businesses: Google Ads that don’t pay their way, websites that don’t bring in enquiries, and admin that eats the week.

Example of the checks I run. Yours will be different.
  • One-off projects welcome
  • No ongoing contract
  • Price agreed first
  • Gold Coast Based

Sound familiar

You don’t need a new everything. You need to know what’s broken.

Things small-business owners say about their ads, websites and admin.

  • Advertising

“I’m spending on Google Ads and can’t tell if it’s working.”

  • Website

“People visit the site but hardly anyone gets in touch.”

  • Follow-up

“Enquiries come in, then slip through the cracks.”

  • Admin

“Too much admin, not enough time on the tools.”

  • Systems

“We pay for software that doesn’t do what we were told.”

  • Agencies

“I’m paying every month and I’m not sure what for.”

Services

Three areas. One problem at a time.

Small, clearly scoped fixes, priced before they start. Bigger work when it genuinely makes sense.

Google Ads Checks & Fixes

Spending on Google Ads but not sure what’s working?

I find where the budget leaks, fix the tracking so the numbers mean something, and explain it plainly.

  • Wasted search terms
  • Broken conversion tracking
  • Location and schedule settings
  • GA4 connected properly

A check and fix, not an ongoing management contract.

Website & Enquiry Improvements

Getting visitors but not enough enquiries?

Most sites don’t need rebuilding. They need a form that works, a phone number you can find, and pages that answer the obvious questions.

  • Broken forms and buttons
  • Mobile fixes
  • Clearer service pages
  • Shopify improvements

Deepest on Shopify. Wix, Squarespace and WordPress are assessed first.

Ask about your website
  1. 1 Headline says nothing about what they doClear offer and suburb, first thing you see
  2. 2 No way to book or call without scrollingBook and Call buttons always on screen
  3. 3 Form fails quietly on mobilePick a time, no form to fill in

Automation & Business Systems

Too much admin, not enough time?

I take repetitive jobs off your plate, starting with the simplest thing that works. Often that’s a spreadsheet and an automatic email, not new software.

  • Quote follow-ups
  • Enquiry tracking
  • Booking reminders
  • Google Sheets systems

If a five-minute change solves it, that’s what I’ll recommend.

Ask about your admin
Runs on its own Example: cleaning company
  1. New enquiry Website form, 2:14 pm
  2. Logged in tracker Added to the enquiries sheet
  3. Instant reply sent “Thanks Sam, your quote is on its way.”
  4. Day 3 follow-up Sent only if the quote is still open
Tools: website form, Google Sheets, Gmail New subscriptions: none

The approach

Identify.Implement.Measure.

Same order every job. Small enough to finish, honest enough to judge.

  1. Step 1: Identify

    Find out what’s actually happening.

Where the real issue sits, and the starting numbers to compare against.

You get the problem in plain words.

  2. Step 2: Implement

Agree the fix. Then do it.

A clear scope and price, then I make the change and test it.

You get the change made, not a to-do list.

  3. Step 3: Measure

    Check it worked.

I confirm the fix, then look at the numbers once there’s enough data. If the evidence is thin, I’ll say so.

You get what changed and what’s worth doing next.

Things I won’t do

  • Sell you a new website when the form just needs fixing.
  • Tell you to spend more on ads before the tracking is right.
  • Build complicated automation when one simple change will do.

Practical experience

I work on these systems in my own business.

I run Guillo Clothing, an Australian online menswear brand. Most of what I offer, I learned there with my own money on the line.

Guillo ClothingHands-on, in my own business

Shopify
Store, theme, product pages, checkout.
Google & Meta Ads
Campaigns, budgets, what really drives sales.
GA4 & tracking
Missing, doubled and misattributed conversions.
Automation
Email flows and jobs that run without me.

Every job ends with a short write-up

Four parts, plain language.

  1. 01 Problem What wasn’t working.
  2. 02 Investigation What I checked and found.
  3. 03 Improvement What I changed, and why.
  4. 04 Verification How I know it works.

About

You’ll deal with me. Start to finish.

I’m William Brettell, originally from England and now on the Gold Coast. I run Guillo Clothing, where I look after the Shopify store, the Google and Meta ads, the tracking and the automation myself.

I’ve studied e-commerce and marketing automation, and worked outside digital too, so I know a business is more than its website. I use modern tools, including AI, to work quickly. The decisions and the checking are mine.

Free initial review

Show me what isn’t working. I’ll take a look.

Tell me what’s bothering you. I’ll look at what’s visible from the outside and send a short, personal reply.

  1. You tell me about the business and the problem.
  2. I look at your website and public setup.
  3. I send one or two practical observations.
  4. If I can fix it, I’ll explain the scope and price.

You might get

Questions

Before you get in touch.

Do I need to rebuild my website?

Usually not. Often a smaller fix to the site you already have does the job, for a lot less.

Do you offer one-off projects?

Yes. Most work is a single, clearly scoped improvement. No ongoing management needed.

Can you help if I don’t know exactly what’s wrong?

Yes, that’s often where it starts. Tell me what you’re noticing and I’ll investigate from there.

Do you need access to my accounts?

Not for the free review. For paid work, I’ll ask only for the access the job needs, once we’ve agreed the scope.

Do you only work with Gold Coast businesses?

I’m Gold Coast based and happy to meet locally. Most work can be done remotely, so I work Australia-wide too.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the problem and the platform. You’ll get the scope and price in writing before any paid work starts.
